R.I.P. Steve

Steve Jobs, 1955 – 2011

Steve Jobs died today 10-5-2011, at the age of 56.

Today we lost one of America’s technology pioneers and he will be deeply missed.

I’m sure many of you know the health issues he’s faced and are aware he recently stepped down from Apple.

His passing still came as a huge shock, somehow I expected him to always beat the odds. He was a true champion and helped shape the world as we know it. Together with the Wizard of Woz (the other Steve) they changed the future of mankind forever.

“Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs, 2005 commencement address at Stanford University 

This is one of the greatest geek videos of all time, a true classic.

This video has a few things in it that just smack of real life in a wonderfully absurd way.

My favorite part is when he tells his boss that he didn’t get the email from him and then logs into the bosses account and removes it from the sent items folder. 

Chip, the sales guy, is classic. I’ve fielded so many calls from people like him that it just touches my heart to know someone else has to deal with pure insanity from time to time.

If you’re not a geek then you might not find the humor in it, but if you’ve ever been in a position to field support calls then you should enjoy this in the way only a geek can.
